State Representative Brad Stephens and Cook County Board of Review Commissioner Dan Patlak, along with other local elected officials, will conduct three property tax assessment and appeal seminars for residents.
The hour-long session will educate taxpayers on how to file a successful tax appeal and include a presentation by Commissioner Dan Patlak explaining the appeal procedure at the Board of Review. Before the end of the evening, taxpayers will have an opportunity to work with staff from the Board of Review to address their specific questions and concerns.
This event is free to the public, and there is no fee to appeal at the Board of Review. No registration is necessary.
Seminars will be held at:
6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, Park Ridge City Hall, 505 Butler Place;
6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, Des Plaines City Hall, 1420 Miner St.;
6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, Maine Township Office, 1700 Ballard Rd., Park Ridge.
Taxpayers may file an appeal online by visiting the Board of Review website: www.cookcountyboardofreview.com. Alternatively, appeal forms also may be picked up at the Board of Review located at 118 N. Clark Street, Room 601, Chicago, IL, local township offices, or print form available on the Board website.
