CHICAGO – Following House Republican Leader Jim Durkin’s (R-Western Springs) Tuesday letter to Governor Pritzker requesting clarification on his plans to reopen the state, State Representative Brad Stephens (R-Rosemont) released the following statement:
“Leader Durkin expressed the sentiments that many Illinoisans share with him about Governor Pritzker’s top-down strategy to address COVID-19. COVID-19 has been divisive in Illinois and is tearing communities apart with no end in sight. Additionally, parents and children are confused to no end. People want straightforward decisions made with commonsense reasoning. However, this appears to have fallen by the wayside at this point. I hope the Governor heeds Leader Durkin’s request to tell the state what he is doing and what plan he has to return Illinois back to a normal life.”
