CHICAGO – State Representative Brad Stephens (R-Rosemont) and Harwood Heights Mayor Arlene Jezierny are hosting a blood drive this month in Harwood Heights. They invite residents to join them at the Harwood Heights Village Hall (7300 W Wilson) on Saturday, March 19th from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
“Giving blood connects us with our community and neighbors,” said Rep. Stephens. “This is an opportunity to give the gift of life to individuals in need of blood. Blood donations are urgently needed now, so if you can, please sign up to provide this needed resource for our neighbors.”
“There are so many that need blood transfusions and YOU can make a difference to help one in need. Please donate Saturday, March 19 at the Village Hall of Harwood Heights,” said Mayor Jezierny.
Individuals interested in making an appointment can visit Vitalant.org, click “Donate Now” or login if they have an account, select “Book Appointment,” input “60706” in the zip code, and input “03/19/2022” in “Jump to date.”
According to Vitalant, every two seconds, a person in the United States needs blood and healthy donors are urged to donate now. All blood types and platelets are needed urgently, especially blood Type O.
