State Rep. Brad Stephens Launches “Lasso a Good Book” Summer Reading Program

This summer, State Rep. Brad Stephens has launched his “Lasso a Good Book” summer reading program. The 20th District is home to terrific libraries filled with lots of books to rein in.

To be a summer reader, Kindergarten through 8th graders must read ten books during their summer vacation. Books for local library programs are also acceptable and books over 150 pages may count for two books. After reading the books, students should have their parents visit RepStephens.com and click Lasso a Good Book Summer Reading Program.” There, they can list how many books the student has read over the summer. Parents and students can also drop off or mail a paper form at Rep. Stephens’ District Office (5515 N East River Rd., Chicago) that is available for download here.

All participants that read 10 books will receive a voucher for two tickets to see the Chicago Wolves at the Allstate Arena during the 2022-23 Season. The individual who reads the most books beyond the 10-book goal—this summer’s “Grand Champion”—will receive two tickets for the B96 Jingle Bash in December 2022. Rep. Stephens will also have informational brochures on state and local programs available.

Submission of the Google Form or paper form is due by August 1st, 2022. If using the paper form, please enclose a page with additional books if the student read over 10 books.
