Stephens Calls Budget Proposal Bad for Business

Illinois Governor JB Pritzker gave his annual State of the State and Budget Address to lawmakers today in the State Capitol. In response, State Representative Brad Stephens noted the $60 million dollar cut to Local Government Distributive Funds with the following statement:

“Today’s address built a sharp divide between Governor Pritzker’s ambitions and a stable fiscal future for Illinois. No speech can distract us from the tough decisions that must be made to secure a better pathway forward, one that will keep families and businesses here for generations to come. The solution to get us there is not tax hikes or expanded government; a better budget proposal starts by keeping local government revenue streams where they belong.”
