This week State Representative Brad Stephens attended the annual Illinois Fallen Firefighter Memorial Ceremony in Springfield. Each year lawmakers join firefighters from across Illinois on the Capitol grounds to honor the incredible bravery and sacrifice shown by firefighters and first responders.
“Each year, we remember the supreme sacrifice of these fallen heroes and recognize our firefighters who serve with courage, pride, and honor,” said Rep. Stephens.
During the event, the Representative was able to meet with members from the Rosemont Fire Department and across the 20th District, including Derek DeRose from the Elmwood Park Fire Department who received the medal of valor.
