CHICAGO – State Representative Brad Stephens (R-Rosemont) and Cook County Commissioner Peter Silvestri (R-Elmwood Park) are hosting a Food & New Hats, Gloves, and Socks Drive next Saturday in Chicago. They invite residents to join them on Saturday, November 20th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon at their district offices’ location at 5515 N. East River Rd. in Chicago.
“As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, it’s important to help our neighbors who need assistance finding food or warm clothing items in these cold months,” said Rep. Stephens. “I’m glad to be hosting this event with Commissioner Silvestri to get in the spirit of giving this season and provide an opportunity for residents to help those in need.”
“State Representative Bradley Stephens and I are hosting a food and clothing drive on November 20th,” said Commissioner Silvestri, “We are asking people to donate non-perishable food items and new warm clothing such as hats, gloves, scarves and socks. I am proud to join with our community members in assisting those in need over this holiday season and appreciate your generosity. We look forward to seeing you on November 20th and wish you all a safe and happy holiday season.”
This event will accept non-perishable food and new hats, gloves, and socks. Brochures on state programs will also be available.
All collected items will go to the Leyden Community Food Pantry, the Maine Township Food Pantry, the Salvation Army Norridge Citadel Community Center, and the Windy City Community Food Pantry.
