State Representative Brad Stephens & Cook County Commissioner Peter Silvestri Hosting Shred & Electronics Recycling Event

Rosemont – State Representative Brad Stephens (R-Rosemont) and Cook County Commissioner Peter Silvestri (R-Elmwood Park) are hosting a FREE shred event and electronics recycling in Norridge this August.

Rep. Stephens and Commissioner Silvestri invite residents to join them on Saturday, August 28th from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Salvation Army Norridge Citadel Community Corps (8354 W Foster Ave., Norridge) for this free shred and electronics recycling event. Paper Tiger will be on-site for residential paper shredding and electronics collection.

“As we enjoy the final weeks of summer, we may also be doing some cleaning in our homes,” said Rep. Stephens. “This is an opportunity to properly dispose of your documents and electronics with your community. I’m looking forward to seeing everybody at this event with Commissioner Silvestri.”

“Due to the Covid restrictions necessitating so many of us working from home, I’m sure that many of you have accumulated paper information and documentation that you no longer need.  This is a great time to easily and safely dispose of any paper that is no longer necessary for you to keep.” said Commissioner Silvestri.

For the event, residents must stay in their cars and someone will be there to take their items. A full list of acceptable electronics to recycle can be found online here. TV’s and monitors will not be accepted at this “drive-thru” event. Document shredding is limited to two grocery bags per car, is residential only, and will be available until the truck is full.

Residents can expect to wait in line and the line will be cut off 30 minutes before the end of the event. Masks and social distancing are required at this event and brochures will be available on state programs.

Constituents with questions are welcome to contact Rep. Stephens’ office by calling (773) 444-0611 or emailing stephens@ilhousegop.org.
