State Representative Brad Stephens (R-Rosemont) and Harwood Heights Mayor Arlene Jezierny are hosting a June Children’s Safety Expo on Saturday, June 10th. 20th District residents are invited to join them from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.at St. Rosalie Church in Harwood Heights (4401 N. Oak Park Ave.).
“I am delighted to bring back our Children’s Safety Expo to the northwest side this summer,” said Rep. Stephens. “We will have lots of fun activities, helpful information, and resources for children and families in the 20th Districts. Join us for touch-a-trucks and demonstrations too! I look forward to seeing you there.”
26 Touch-A-Trucks and over 40vendors will be at this event. Vendors include Anything Art, Be Smart, Commonwealth Edison, Greater Family Health, Juice Plus, Level Up Fitness, Maine Township, Metropolitan Tenants Organization, Niles Fire Department, Norridge Park District, Norwood Park Fire Protection District, PACE, Prudential, RTA, Superior Ambulance, the Arc of Illinois, Traveling World of Reptiles, U Know Me Towing, and the Villages of Franklin Park and Schiller Park. From the City of Chicago is City of Chicago Emergency Management, CTA, and Roden Chicago Public Library. From Cook County is the Cook County Health Department, Highway Department, and the Cook County Sheriff & K-9.
The Village of Harwood Heights, Harwood Heights Police Department, and Eisenhower Public Library as well as the Village of Rosemont, Rosemont Fire Department, and Rosemont Public Works will also be in attendance. From the State of Illinois is the Illinois Conservation Police, Department of Transportation, Secretary of State Police, Illinois State Police, Office of the Illinois Attorney General, Office of the Illinois Secretary of State, Office of the Illinois Treasurer, and the University of Illinois Extension.
Demonstrations at the event will begin at 9:30 a.m.and are as follows:
- 9:30 a.m.: Cook County Sheriff K-9
- 10:00 a.m.: Norridge Park District Dancers
- 10:30 a.m.: Traveling World of Reptiles Show
- 12:00 p.m.: Fun & Fit Interactive Class
- 12:30 p.m.: Drawing for Giveaways
